The Rotary Club of Castlemaine will host its 32nd annual Rotary Arts show this Queen's Birthday Long weekend at the Castlemaine Town Hall.
Showcasing emerging and established artists from the region and beyond, the exhibition features works in mediums including watercolour, pastels, 3D and photography and has become a popular event drawing local crowds and visitors.
For the first time the event has been extended to four days with a fabulous opening night gala event on Thursday 6 June, which will include the announcement of the award winners.
The Rotary Art Show is one of the club's major fundraisers for the year. All works are for sale and money raised from the event and raffle contribute to rotary events and programs including local youth initiatives such as the breakfast and SOAR programs at Castlemaine Secondary College and the club's ongoing support of a hospital in Papua New Guinea.
The major prize in this year's raffle is 'Pears and Banksias" created by renowned Castlemaine artist, 97-year old Peggy Shaw. Raffle tickets are available at the Maxi IGA complex in Castlemaine on Thursday 6 June.
